New Brunswick Game Jam 2016
Last weekend, UNB hosted its first Game Jam. The event, organized by Media Artist in Residence Chad Comeau, took place over 24 hours in Marshall D’Avray Hall. Students and friends from the public assembled to create digital games on the shared theme of “Everything you know is wrong.”
In total, about 45 people participated in the 24h event held Nov. 18 to Nov. 19th and created 14 original games. Check out the Game Jam entries here: https://itch.io/jam/nbgamejam/entries
The organizers intend to make the New Brunswick Game Jam an annual event for students and the public across the province. This year there was also a contiguous Game Jam location at NBCC's Miramichi Campus, hosted by Nick Comeau and Luke Trynchuk. Stay tuned for news of next year’s edition.
This event was supported by the UNB Faculty of Arts, Artsnb, the UNB Department of Culture and Media Studies' Media Arts and Cultures Program and the UNB Media Arts and Cultures Society for students. The event logo and graphic design was provided by event sponsor Polygon Graphics.
