Dr. Mercy Oyet joined the Faculty of Business as an Assistant Professor of organizational behavior and human resource management in 2018. Dr. Oyet has extensive industry experience in human resource management, having worked for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, St. John’s, NL as a regional human resources advisor, prior to joining UNB Saint John.

Dr. Oyet received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in management from Memorial University of Newfoundland (St. John’s, NL), her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (St. John’s, NL), and her Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Accountancy from Imo State University (Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria). Dr. Oyet teaches courses in human resource management and business.

Dr. Oyet’s research interests are primarily in the area of workplace interpersonal mistreatment from the target, perpetrator, and bystander perspectives. In general, she is interested in employee health and wellbeing in the workplace, and individual and organizational factors that influence these outcomes.
