Continuation of FOR 3005 . Introduction to linear programming in forest management. Introduction to elements of resource modelling and productivity assessment (e.g. water flow) at the stand level. Analysis of the impact of alternative interventions at the operational level and their integration with strategic and tactical plans, including: financial and socioeconomic evaluation of forest management and resulting value flows; and risk management for insect or pathogenic attacks and wildfire. Post-implementation assessment of activities as a critical part of the management process.

Prerequisite: FOR 2006 , FOR 3005 , or permission of instructor.
