We are excited you have chosen UNB Fredericton! The Spring Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) is an in-person event that will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 12 - 5 p.m. in the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER on the 4th floor.

Schedule

12 p.m. | We will begin the event with a “Welcome” for students, parents and supporters.

12:30 p.m. | Students will be with their faculties, while parents and supporters will have dedicated programming.

2:15 p.m. | Parents and supporters will get a chance to connect with their student’s faculty.

From 2:15 p.m. until 5 p.m. | We will also have information stations for many of the Services UNB has to offer. Come and connect with any and all services and then the rest of the day is yours.

Tips for a successful SOAR

Tip1: It will be a very busy afternoon, so make sure to have a big brunch or early lunch before arriving.

Tip 2: Bring appropriate clothing for the weather. There will be some travel between buildings for the faculty programming.

Tip 3: Bring a refillable water bottle for you and everyone you are bringing. There is a water fountain near the washrooms.

Tip 4: Bring your questions!

SOAR is just the start of your journey and will prepare you for all aspects of undergraduate student life. We look forward to welcoming you to campus!

SOAR is also for parents and supporters

Parents and supporters are invited to attend SOAR with your student. We know that your student starting university is a transition for you, too, and we want you to know what to expect.

What can you expect

SOAR will include a series of different programs for both incoming students and their parents and supporters:

  • Faculties will host faculty-specific programming.
  • Our parents and supporters will have specific programming to answer as many of your questions as we can and help you to navigate this transition as well.
  • There will be information stations: We will have a trade-show style booths highlighting services and supports across campus.
