Portrait of UNB’s 18th President and Vice-Chancellor, Eddy Campbell, unveiled

On Friday, Sept. 27, UNB’s community gathered to celebrate the contributions of our 18th President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Eddy Campbell. This celebration also marked the unveiling of his official portrait, which now takes its place among UNB’s other past presidents in the Great Hall of Sir Howard Douglas Hall. I encourage you to stop by and view the portrait in person at your convenience.

The portrait is the work of talented Moncton artist Ann Balch. In it, Eddy is depicted holding a copy of the book Modular Invariant Theory, which he co-authored with long-time collaborator and friend Dr. David Wehlau of Queen’s University.

I’d like to once again extend my thanks to Eddy for his service to UNB over the past ten years and for the support he has given me over the past months. I wish him the very best (and plenty of mathematics) in the future.
