Digital technologies are changing quickly, and many workplaces rely on people with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills. To understand how employer demand for these skills is shifting in New Brunswick, this study looks at online job postings for occupations in the Natural and Applied Sciences. These occupations include many ICT‑related roles, including professional, technical, and managerial positions.
The study uses job postings from 2019 to 2023 to examine how many positions were advertised, what qualifications employers asked for, and how patterns differed across regions. While overall job postings in the province increased during this period, postings in the Natural and Applied Sciences declined. Employers were also more likely to list specific educational requirements in 2023, and a growing share of postings asked for undergraduate or graduate degrees. Wage information for postings requiring a college diploma suggests that compensation for some roles increased over time.
These findings offer a snapshot of how demand for ICT‑related skills is changing in New Brunswick and can help support planning for the province’s digital workforce.
