Report

Description

This report is the second in a two-part series evaluating the Pharmacist Care Clinic pilot in New Brunswick.

The clinics were set up in pharmacies to help people manage chronic conditions and access care for common infections like strep throat.

While part one of the evaluation describes clinic operations, clinic services, and client perceptions, part two looks at how the clinics affected people’s health and use of other healthcare services, and what clients, staff, and healthcare professionals thought of the program.

The clinics delivered over 3,000 services to nearly 2,600 people, many of whom didn’t have a family doctor. Satisfaction was high, and the clinics helped reduce use of virtual care services.

The findings show how pharmacist-led care can improve access and support chronic disease management, while highlighting areas for improvement like better communication and stronger integration with other healthcare services.
