Ensembles

The UNB Conservatory offers programs that give people of all ages, levels, and interests the opportunity to ignite their passion for music. Conservatory students can participate in orchestra and string programs, and various ensembles, all geared toward enhancing learning and enjoyment of their instrument. Private lessons are also available.

Intermediate String Orchestra

Tailored to students ages 6-13 who have two years’ experience playing their instrument. Further your playing level and develop ensemble skills as a musician.

Senior String Orchestra

Challenge your string technique and musicianship. This is for high-school aged students who are playing at RCM level 5 or higher. This group offers many performance opportunities and community involvement.

UNB Concert Band

A full wind, brass, and percussion ensemble open to anyone who plays a band instrument. Improve your technical and musical skills while engaging in a larger music community. No auditions are required to join, and instruments are available to rent.

UNB Chorale

Open to all chorale singers, this non-auditioned chamber choir is a combination of UNB students and staff together with professionals from the Fredericton area. Our diverse repertoire embraces a variety of styles. Though beneficial, the ability to sight read is not essential for Chorale members.

Chamber Music

Playing music with others is one of the most satisfying activities for musicians of all ages and builds communication, personal responsibility and other musical skills.

Sign up to play in a string quartet, wind quintet, or any other chamber music formation. In this course, students will play with a group of peers and receive weekly coaching sessions with one of our instructors. You can join with your musical friends or let us find you a group to play in. Students will receive 10 ensemble lessons and will participate in a final concert with the other groups. This course is ideal for players with at least 2 years of experience on their instrument.

Instructor, group members, and coaching times will be coordinated upon registration.
