Important changes to course registration

Registering for Summer 2025?

Online Open Entry Courses are offered in each academic term and are available to undergraduate and graduate students, adult learners, students studying at other post-secondary institutions, and prospective students.

These courses are offered online in an asynchronous format which allows you to study at your own pace. You will have up to 6 months from your registration to complete your course.

There is a $150 non-refundable/non-transferable online fee per course in addition to applicable tuition and fees. Learn more about online course tuition and fees and methods of payment.

Following this summer term important changes will take place for Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 for online open entry courses.

Beginning Fall 2025

Students must register for:

  • Fall 2025 courses on or before Sept. 12, 2025.
  • Winter 2026 courses on or before Jan. 16, 2026.

Course registration process for Summer 2025

Courses do not begin until your application is processed, payment is received and your registration is completed.

  • Full-time students are enrolled in 3 or more courses
  • Part-time students are enrolled in 2 or less courses

Summer term starts May 1

  • Full-time students: Depends on the academic program
  • Part-time students: Aug. 15

  1. For each course you want to apply to, click on the course.
  2. Once you are on the course page, scroll to the bottom and click "Apply now".
  3. Fill out and submit the application form.
  4. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation.
  5. After your application is reviewed, you will be emailed the next step to become registered in the course(s).

Note: You cannot self-register for open entry online courses through UNB’s internal Student Planning & Registration system.


Government student loan programs (Canadian and US) require courses be completed within a traditional academic term.
