This course provides a basic understanding of concepts and methods related to human resource management in modern organizations. Also, the purpose is to sharpen students understanding and awareness of the contribution this unique resource (i.e. human resources) can make to organizational effectiveness. Core topics examined in this course include strategic importance of human resource management, staffing, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, labour relations, and international aspects of human resource management.
