About the instructor

Dr. William A. Howatt, PhD, EdD, has worked with some of the largest companies in Canada, federal, provincial, and municipal leaders, and Fortune 500 companies on Wall Street. Bringing together over two decades of applied behavioural science and leadership, and a wide range of client experiences, Dr. William A. Howatt (Dr. Bill) provides executive coaching and leadership development to organizations around the world, including executives in federal and provincial government, the finance sector, health care, and manufacturing.

Author of over 160 books, columns, and articles on personal and management development, human resources, and addictions, Dr. Bill's works include the Howatt HR Elements Series and The Addiction Counselor Desk Reference. One of his most recent books, TalOp (Talent and Operations Management) Taking the Guesswork out of Management, is a foundational text for a management methodology that supports a disciplined, fact-finding approach for improving people effectiveness and engagement and process efficiency for all levels of an organization. He is also the author of the TalOp Methodology for Organizational Analysis. For five years, he authored Coach’s Corner, a monthly business column in The Chronicle Herald and is now a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail’s 9 to 5 career column and Leadership Lab. He has partnered with The Globe and Mail to offer the Life at Work Study, which provides leaders across Canada with an opportunity to evaluate their productivity, health, stress risk.

He has facilitated courses and authored programs for multiple organizations including: the University of New Brunswick, Mount Saint Vincent University, University of California, Nova Scotia Community College, Acadia University, and the Governments of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
