I’m delighted to share with you the outstanding achievements at the University of New Brunswick. Despite challenging times, our resilient faculty, staff, students and alumni continue to do extraordinary things to “change the world” at home and abroad.

Celebrating the contributions and successes of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni represents one of most inspiring aspects of my role. The community-based initiatives, ground-breaking research, academic and athletic successes, and personal achievements of the UNB community are extraordinary. At UNB, people make the difference. Our people are committed to making the world a better place. Their passion for positive change is profound, as you will see in this report.

UNB is committed to tackling society’s great challenges and the ambitious initiatives undertaken by our university continue to move us forward. Guided by our strategic vision, UNB Toward 2030, we are responding to both local and global needs. We are leading the way with our research activities, in delivering transformative student learning opportunities, and in building a community where everyone belongs.

Each year, UNB expands its reach and impact on the province and beyond. We are deeply committed to delivering a social dividend to the community. As we look ahead, our institution’s newest endeavours – including the McKenna Institute, the Integrated Health Initiative, and the renewal of our academic visions for engineering, computer science and law – will continue to propel UNB forward and transform New Brunswick’s future.

Our university community has responded to an ever-changing world with incredible fortitude, tenacity and compassion. This report features a small sampling of the extraordinary work being undertaken across the institution. I encourage you to read these stories and celebrate all accomplishments, big and small, that contribute to the transformative power of the University of New Brunswick.

With kind regards,

Paul J. Mazerolle
UNB President and Vice-Chancellor
