We continue to grow our offerings to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

LPN-BN Pathway program for licensed practical nurses added 24 seats

The Province of New Brunswick provided funding to help licensed practical nurses (LPNs) apply directly to the bachelor of nursing program on the UNB Fredericton campus with the addition of 24 academic seats. This doubled the capacity of the program to 48.

UNB, Mount Allison signed new memorandum of understanding

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) and Mount Allison University (MtA) established the MtA Pathway program, an agreement that will enable students to easily continue their post-secondary education in the province.

UNB Saint John announced new diploma in engineering foundations

The University of New Brunswick introduced a new two-year diploma in engineering foundations program, offered on its Saint John campus. The diploma in engineering foundations began in September 2021 and will provide graduates with formal recognition upon completion of the two foundational years in engineering.

Our Shaping the Debate initiative serves the public good by convening important conversations to help build a more prosperous and just future for New Brunswick. Through public dialogue and roundtable discussions, Shaping the Debate provides a platform for critical exchange of views to ensure positive action that will benefit communities, the economy, and lives of New Brunswickers.

The UNB’s Fredericton campus is a rising star in sustainability, showing considerable improvement in the worldwide ranking of sustainable practices among institutions of higher learning.

The late Dr. Gary Worrell (BPE '75) found tremendous pride in helping countless UNB Saint John students who benefited from his compassionate guidance. To honour his memory, Gary’s wife, Sue, along with their family and friends have established the Dr. Gary Worrell Memorial Soccer Scholarship.

Pretium Resources Inc. (“Pretivm”), in conjunction with UNB alumnus Dr. Robert Quartermain, invested a combined $125,000 at the University of New Brunswick to establish the Pretium Resources Graduate Scholarship in the department of earth sciences.

90-year-old scientist paves way for future researchers

Dr. Friedrich Grein, a professor emeritus in the department of chemistry, has remained an active researcher after 60 years with the University of New Brunswick. Having generously established two research awards at UNB, he has ensured that future UNB researchers will have more opportunities than ever to pursue excellence.
