What inspired you to enrol in UNB’s Faculty of Management?
My journey at UNB actually began in the Faculty of Kinesiology. While I loved the program and the people I met there, my interests started to shift outside the classroom. Through my involvement in student life, I discovered a growing interest in organizing, planning, and building connections, which led me to switch into the Faculty of Management. I knew the BBA program had so many opportunities to grow and get involved, and making that move gave me clarity, direction, and the chance to really pursue what I’m passionate about.
What has been the most rewarding or exciting part of your academic studies?
The most rewarding part of my academic studies has been pursuing my honours in marketing, which has given me so many opportunities to gain real-world experience. I’ve completed a marketing internship in a role that has been both meaningful and challenging, allowing me to develop practical skills, and contribute to projects I’m proud of. Additionally, representing UNB at conferences, such as the COCA Conference, has been an exciting way to share ideas, learn from others in the field and bring new insights back to my campus community.
How do you stay involved in student life on campus?
I stay involved in student life by actively participating in initiatives that support students and build community across campus. I’ve been heavily involved with the UNB Student Union, serving as director of campus events for a couple years and now as a councillor for the Faculty of Management. These roles, along with my involvement in other student groups such as the UNB Finance Club, UNB Global Brigades and many more, allow me to contribute to campus initiatives, organize meaningful events and collaborate with students across programs. I’m also a peer mentor for the Faculty of Management, a role that supports first-year students in their transition to university. This position has been particularly rewarding, helping students navigate their first year and make the most of their UNB experience.
How has receiving the Alumni Student Leadership Award positively impacted your UNB experience?
Receiving the Alumni Student Leadership Award has had a meaningful impact on my UNB experience. The financial support has allowed me to focus on my studies, take on leadership opportunities, and fully engage in campus life without added financial stress. The recognition has been incredibly encouraging, showing me that my dedication and involvement on campus are valued. Thank you to UNB alumni for supporting students like me.
What makes you Proudly UNB?
I’m so proud to be part of such an amazing community. UNB is full of incredible people, from students to faculty and staff, and from the very beginning I’ve felt like this is where I’m meant to be. UNB has truly been a home away from home. Even though my journey has had its twists and turns, the constant support I have received from my advisors, peers, professors and the programs I’ve been part of, has helped me navigate my challenges and grow. That support and sense of belonging is what makes me Proudly UNB.
What are your future plans once you’ve completed your undergraduate degree?
My passion for marketing, particularly event marketing, has developed through a variety of experiences during my time at UNB, including my marketing internship with the UNBSU and completing three summer internships with Irving Oil. These opportunities allowed me to gain hands-on experience, explore different aspects of marketing, and confirm that this is the path I want to pursue. I’m now excited to be starting a role as an events coordinator at Irving Oil after graduation in June 2026, where I’ll be able to take on new projects, and further develop my skills, all while doing something I love!
How do you hope to continue staying connected to UNB in the future as an alum?
I hope to remain an active UNB alum, stay connected to the community, and give back in ways that support students and campus life. Being part of the place I’ve called my second home has meant so much to me, and I hope to continue contributing even after completion of my studies.
