FAQ's - Students Transferring to UNB
How do you know that I want to be considered for a scholarship?
You have to submit your transcript in order to transfer to UNB. So, we will look very closely at your transcript and make a scholarship offer, if your marks are good (and you are transferring from a post-secondary institution in Canada.)
We do have a few scholarships that require a bit more information from you, so you could also complete this application form.
What grades do you look at?
In general, we want to know how you did in the most recent year of study, before you decided to transfer to UNB. We would like to review the grades from one year of full-time study.
How do I know if I received a scholarship?
The Undergraduate Awards Office will notify successful applicants by mail.
How do I get the money?
Scholarships are applied to your student account – half the amount in the Fall and half the amount in the Winter. Tuition and compulsory fees are deducted first, so you end up paying less.
I got a scholarship! How do I thank the donor?
First of all, congratulations! Well done!
UNB’s Office of Development and Donor Relations will be in touch with donor contact information, if available. This normally happens in the Fall term, once everything has been awarded.
A thank-you note is VERY important. UNB is always grateful to our donors but they really want to hear from you – the student – the person they want to help out. What does the scholarship mean to you?
