Legal Assistance
All international students are encouraged to see the International Student Advisors if they run into any issues during their stay in Canada.
If you want to know more about renting in Canada you can visit the Rentalsman Office's website here. The Rentalsman Office can inform you about your rights and duties as a tenant.
If you are a full time undergraduate student and require legal representation in connection with an employment issue, an academic appeal, a small claim and or a landlord tenancy issue you can access the Student Representative Council's (SRC) lawyer for free for one hour. If after the hour expires, you still require representation, the law offices of Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales will do their utmost to provide representation at a reduced student rate.
If you have a legal question or if you would like more information about Legal Rights For Students contact your SRC office at 648-5684 or you can speak directly with our legal counsel, Aaron Savage, at the law offices of Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales, (506) 443-0157.
