What's New in Space Management? Astra Schedule 7.5!

Published Aug 7th 2013

Have you heard the news?  Astra Schedule 7.5 was launched on July 22nd 2013 on the Fredericton Campus!

This upgrade represents a new web-interface and is truly an enterprise-wide solution. Jointly implemented by our Fredericton Registrar and Conference Services as well as the Saint John Campus, it will replace previous ‘room booking’ methods.

Why is this important? The Vice-President strongly supports this initiative since it provides true one-stop shopping for students, faculty and staff in finding the right space for the right event. Online web searches, views and forms provide the ability to initiate a space request from anywhere in the world. It also provides key inventory & utilization data to the University so we can better understand our current and future space needs.

All current users of Astra Schedule have been contacted and were migrated on July 22nd. The Astra Implementation Working Group has contacted all other space holders to initiate migration over upcoming weeks. Our entire Campus will be ‘online’ by September 31st! Training sessions were held in July with further sessions scheduled in August and September.  If you would like to receive training but have not yet been contacted by our group, please contact the Central Booking Office at meet@unb.ca.
