The plan in action
It's been a busy year bringing life to the strategic plan. Campuses have been focusing their efforts to realize the five main goals of the plan. New and existing activities at UNB take into account these priorities.
University Management Committee
The University Management Committee (UMC) consists of the president, the vice-presidents, the chief advancement officer, the university secretary and the director of the President's Office.
In the Spring, UMC determined their own priorities of those listed in the strategic plan. UMC believes these to be the foundation for the success of our plan and these will help them focus their attention to high priority areas over the next 12-18 months.

Campus plans
Faculties on the Fredericton campus have developed implementation plans to help ensure that their activities support the goals approved within the strategic plan. Planning sessions were held on the Saint John campus with the Vice-President's Advisory Council (VPAC), followed by a consultation session with the campus.
Success stories
We’ve had many successes with implementing the strategic plan. In October, we launched the Pond-Deshpande Centre (PDC) for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Not only will this Centre provide an exceptional and transformative student experience it will help UNB to become leaders in discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship. For more information on the PDC please visit www.unb.ca/innovation/pdc.
In the plan, we committed to developing a set of metrics to hold ourselves accountable. A set of key performance indicators (KPIs) have been developed for the Board of Governors and Senates. A report card to accompany the strategic plan is currently under development.
An baseline/update report will be circulated to the Board of Governors and Senates in December. When that report has been accepted by those governing bodies, it will be available on this website.
