Upcoming internal awards

February 20 - Dr. William S. Lewis Doctoral Fellowships - Incoming Doctoral students may be nominated by their Faculty/Department for the prestigious Lewis Fellowships which carry a value of up to $100,000 over 4 years. This year, incoming doctoral students working in the NSERC and SSHRC disciplines are eligible for nomination.

February 20 - The President's Doctoral Tuition Awards - Thanks to the support of the President, Dr. Eddy Campbell, multiple tuition awards are available to incoming Doctoral students that cover the cost of tuition for up to three years. Nominations are to be made by Graduate Academic Units. 

On Campus Workshops

February 21 - "Make Your Point: Secrets to Presenting with Purpose, Authority, and Effect" - Mr. Carl Duivenvoorden,speaker, writer, and a member of Toastmasters International for over two decades, will provide a 45-minute presentation in room 03, Toole Hall. Presentation will begin at 5:30pm.

February 23 (Originally scheduled on Feb 16th but postponed due to storm prediction) - “But,I have a point...": Communicating Your Ideas to Others - Dr. David Creelman Professor and Chair in the Department of English at UNBSJ and winner of a 3M National Teaching Fellowship Award, will deliver a 45-50 presentation in room 143, D'Avray Hall. Presentation will begin at 1:30pm.

March 09 - MITACS - Practice Your Presentation Skills  - The MITACS Step program will once again be visiting our campus to host a day long workshop that will improve your presentation skills. Students will spend the day working on skills that will help them throughout their graduate studies as well as during their career. Registration information can be found online.

Online workshops

February 14 - February 28 - MITACS - Writing Effective Emails - Gain the confidence to communicate effectively and learn valuable ways to finesse your email etiquette to aide you professionally for the rest of your career. This workshop is multi-day, and can be accessed at any time, with a total expected duration of 2-3 hours. Register now.
