Important Travel Advice
Carry all important documents with you on the plane and have photocopies in your suitcase.- Have your Study Permit approval letter ready to show Canada Immigration officials at the port of entry.
- Bring approximately $100 in cash in case of emergency and $200-$500 in Travellers Cheques.
- Change your currency to Canadian dollars before you arrive - there is no currency exchange desk at the Fredericton Airport!
- Make sure that your luggage is identified in English with a Fredericton address (you can use our office address)
- If you require emergency assistance at any time after your arrival, contact UNB Security at 453-4830 (open 24-hours, 7 days a week)
Flying to the Fredericton Airport (YFC)
- Located approximately 20 kilometers (a 15 minute drive) from Fredericton’s city center.
- There are no shuttles from the airport to campus, but there is a taxi service (approximately $25) and if a taxi is not waiting outside the door, there is a phone with a direct line to the taxi beside the main door.
- The airport is very small; there is only one gate for arrivals, and only one luggage carrousel. It is impossible to get lost in this airport!
Flying to Montreal-Trudeau Airport and taking the bus to Fredericton
From the Montreal airport to the Montreal bus terminal:
- You need to take a shuttle called: L’Aérobus to the Montréal Central Bus Station located at 505 de Maisonneuve Blvd. E.
- L’Aérobus leaves the airport every 25 minutes and takes 45 minutes to travel to the Montréal Central Bus Station.
- Ticket office: Tickets for L’Aérobus on sale at Montréal–Trudeau arrivals level.
- Cost: $15 (approximately)
From the Montreal bus terminal to the Fredericton bus terminal:
- At the Montréal Central Bus Station: purchase a ticket from Montreal to Fredericton
- Trip takes approximately 8-10 hours with one transfer in Riviere du loup. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A ONE HOUR TIME CHANGE BETWEEN QUEBEC AND NEW BRUNSWICK.
- Departure from Montreal: 10:20pm and 6:00am
- Cost: $110 (approximately)
