Aitken University Centre

The Aitken University Centre (AUC), University of New Brunswick's Multi Purpose facility, opened in May of 1976 with the University Spring Encaenia and followed by a sell out Anne Murray Concert

The AUC has hosted in excess of 3,500 major ticketed Events during the past 28 years. Owned and Managed privately by the University of New Brunswick, the Centre has played the role of the Municipal Civic Centre for the greater Fredericton region for all of those years.

The Aitken University Centre is widely used by the University community. It is home to the UNB Varsity Reds men's and UNB Red Blazers women's hockey teams.  Campus Recreation through its Intramural hockey program and various sport clubs is the other major user of the facility.  Other useful features include a classroom and a new high performance training centre.
