M. Abdur Rahim

M. Abdur RahimM. ABDUR RAHIM, Professor, joined the Faculty of Business Administration in 1983 and is a member of the Quantitative Methods area. He teaches Production and Operations Management and Total Quality Management in the BBA and MBA programs. Dr. Rahim received the UNB Merit Award in 1992 and 2000 for his performance in research, service, and teaching. He received the Faculty of Business Administration's Excellence in Research Award in 1999 for outstanding performance across his career.

Dr. Rahim is a recognized world expert in Total Quality Management. He has taught a wide range of courses in universities in Canada, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia. He has worked as a consultant for UNDP (United Nations Development Program) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organizations of the United Nations). Dr. Rahim has delivered numerous invited talks around the world that have dealt with inventory control or quality management issues.

He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Systems Science and Regional Editor of Economic Quality Control. He is a member of the Advisory or Editorial boards for: the American International University Bangladesh Journal of Business and Economics, Engineering Optimization, the Journal of Quality in Maintenance Engineering, the Journal of Technology Management, and Quality Engineering.

Dr. Rahim's research interests are quality control, inventory control, reliability, and production and operations management. He has written or edited three monographs and has produced over 70 refereed journal articles or book chapters. His scholarship has appeared in journals such as: Computers & Industrial Engineering, Computers & Operations Research, Engineering Optimization, the European Journal of Operational Research, Industrial Management, the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, the International Journal of Production Economics, the International Journal of Production Research, the International Journal of Systems Science, International Journal of Reliability, the Journal of Applied Statistics, the Journal of the Operational Research Society, the Journal of Quality in Maintenance Engineering, the Journal of Quality Technology, OMEGA, Process Control and Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Quality and Reliability, and Total Quality Management.
