MBA Consulting Group

Once joining the MBA Consulting Group you'll be given your own office on campus to work with your three to four person team, while working on this four month long project. You'll also receive assistance from a faculty advisor, who will guide you through the marketing audit, branding study, economic impact study, market and competition analysis, market share and business development plan, industry analysis, or whatever your project maybe.

Our students have been involved in marketing audits, branding studies, economic impact studies, market and competition analyses, market share and business development plans and industry analyses. Our MBA Consulting Group can in no way be described as usual. In fact, the program has been so successful, Canadian Business Magazine (November 2001 issue) featured one of our consulting group's client projects.

Relevance

Typical projects will run for about four months, during which time you will gain practical experience and provide real consulting to businesses in the community. From a private office on campus, your team of three to four students will work with a faculty adviser to determine what the client's needs are, and then how to fulfill those needs.

In recent years, students in our MBA Consulting Group have consulted for companies such as LifeofSports.com, Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick, CNIB, Howard Johnson (Ramada), St. John Ambulance, UNB Wellness Committee, and the province of New Brunswick's Advanced Teaching and Learning.

Admission to the Program

To join the MBA consulting group, you must be in your second year of study. Please note that this is an elective program and is not offered every year. Students are informed when the program becomes available. A committee will interview applicants. If selected, you will be matched to a client and project.
