Our mission statement
The Faculty of Business Administration will provide excellent and comprehensive business education for aspiring professionals in New Brunswick and the broader national community. Through partnerships with other units within UNB and with other organizations, we will deliver innovative offerings that provide the knowledge, attitudes, and skills for individuals to become business professionals.
Vision
In the course of the next decade the Faculty aspires to be:
- The top school in the rankings of the business schools in Atlantic Canada, and among the top 15 in Canada.
- The business school of choice for students seeking outstanding programs in our region.
- An incubator of business ideas, with a growing stress upon entrepreneurial education, and the development of entrepreneurs in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.
- A strong option for new Ph.D.s coming out of the best graduate programs in Business and in Economics around the world, seeking full-time academic positions.
Core Values
We will realize this mission through the following areas:
- As part of a provincially-funded university, the Faculty serves students primarily from New Brunswick but it is committed to being a leading business school in eastern Canada.
- Building upon established expertise, we will develop educational offerings with learning and skills appropriate for developing professionals for the modern service economy.
- While recognizing the continuing importance of undergraduate business education, our traditional core service, a greater long-term emphasis will be placed upon graduate-level activities.
- We will support faculty excellence in research, teaching, and service, with a balance between research and teaching. Applied and theoretical scholarship that is consistent with our mission will be encouraged.
- Through partnerships with other organizations, our business programs will be offered in select international locations.
