Accounting Professor Receives Teaching Award for Third Consecutive Year
At the end of each academic year students in the BBA and MBA programs in UNB’s faculty of business administration vote to select the professor who will receive the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award. This year, for the third year in a row, students chose to award Robert Maher, professor of accounting, with this distinction. He previously received this award in 2003, so it is actually the fourth time his teaching has been recognized. The teaching award was formally recognized at the Faculty’s Encaenia Awards Reception on May 29. “It’s no surprise,” commented Rob Austin, dean of the faculty of business administration at the Faculty’s Encaenia Awards Reception in May, “students past and present have commented on the wonderful learning experience Bob provides in his classrooms. Each fall we award some of our distinguished alumni with certificates of distinction and when they reflect on their experiences at UNB many of them recall their classes with Bob.”
Professor Maher joined the Faculty in 1988 and teaches courses in administration, accounting, and advanced financial accounting. In 2004, his contributions to the University were recognized with the UNB Merit Award.
