Support / Donors

The Centre was founded through the generous support of the Hellenic Communities of New Brunswick and the Faculty of Arts and Department of Classics and Ancient History of the University of New Brunswick, and the Greek Consulate General in Montreal.  With Funds received from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Community of Saint John NB and the Consulate General in Montreal, an endowment has been established that will be used to support the various projects of the Centre.  In addition to the endowment, two annual scholarships were offered by the Greek Canadian Community of New Brunswick for undergraduate and graduate students: The Athena and The Aristotle scholarships.  The Greek Ministry of Culture has offered an annual scholarship for an inclusive one month Greek Language Program in Thessaloniki, while the Greek Ministry of Education has sent a Language instructor for Modern Greek to UNB. We have also received numerous book donations from various agencies in Greece that will assist in expanding our library research facilities for students, faculty and the public.
