Culture and Language Studies
Globalization, democratization, rapidly changing technology and post-colonial forces continually transform our complex and interconnected world, demanding of each of us to respond to new challenges and opportunities. The Department of Culture and Language Studies welcomes students of all disciplines to join us as we seek to increase our understanding of diverse cultures, expand our competence in foreign languages, and investigate the impact of as well as the creative potential contained in established and emerging media technologies.
Located in Carleton Hall, the Department of Culture and Language Studies houses a variety of specialists in languages, literatures, media arts and cultures. In the spirit of diversity and understanding, we are committed to our students, to the exploration of innovative teaching and research modes that draw upon common interests among our languages and disciplines, and to the strengthening of our links to the greater academic community and the community at large.
