To be awarded based on merit, by a committee chaired by the Director of Graduate Studies in Biology, to a full-time graduate student in the Department of Biology, whose research specialty is, in order of preference, (1) Phycology, (2) Developmental Botany, (3) Plant Ecology. Tenable on the Fredericton campus only.
Committee of Governance: Chair-Director of Graduate Studies of the Biology Department, and two other faculty members in appropriate disciplines of Plant Biology.
Condition to govern the award:
1. Recommendations, not applications, can be made, and the initiative to rest with the Committee.
2. The award is for merit, not for financial need.
3. An award will will made in any given year, only if there is/are student(s) with sufficient merit for the Committee to consider.
4. Award value to be increased annually if appropriate.
