In line with Promise Partnership’s mission to ensure equitable access to quality education for all young people in New Brunswick, we are proud to announce Promise Partnership’s expansion to Moncton.
This new chapter was shaped by a comprehensive needs assessment and close collaboration with the Anglophone East School District and NBCC Moncton, identifying a strong demand for digital literacy and mentorship opportunities in the region.
Thanks to the generosity of several donors, including the Wesley and Patricia Armour Foundation, Promise Partnership Moncton officially launched programming January 2025. This expansion brings our proven model of hands-on digital learning, mentorship, and community engagement to a new group of students and educators.
By working directly with local schools, our team delivers programming that builds technical skills, fosters a growth mindset, and empowers students to envision new possibilities for their futures.
Promise Partnership Moncton delivers an afterschool digital literacy mentorship program for students in grades 3-5 at Birchmount School. Our programs feature interactive learning centers designed to captivate young minds. Like Saint John, this program is based on the New Brunswick Digital Literacy Framework by Dr. Matt McGuire of UNB.
Led by our education coordinator, enthusiastic student coordinators and dedicated mentors, we’re committed to supporting students, including many English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners. Snacks are provided at each session.
In Fall 2025 Promise Partnership Moncton will be launching an afterschool program for Middle School students. This program will see middle school students work with dedicated mentors on homework help, cooking skills, and explore projects and topics such as entrepreneurship, coding, and creative thinking and design.
Our Digital Outreach initiative allows Promise staff to work with teachers and classrooms in both Moncton and rural areas in New Brunswick. This program allows students to participate in STEAM building challenges, learn about internet safety, the basics of coding and robotics, as well as 3D design and printing.
Through these classroom-based activities, students not only gain valuable technical skills, but also strengthen their growth mindset, problem solving abilities, and computational thinking.
The Digital Outreach initiative not only enriches student learning—it also equips teachers with the tools and confidence to bring digital literacy into their classrooms. Through hands-on collaboration, educators gain access to curriculum-aligned lesson plans, professional support, and real-time experience with STEAM activities.
Teachers co-learn alongside students, discovering how digital tools can seamlessly integrate with core subjects. This program fosters a growth mindset in educators, showing that teaching technology is not only attainable but transformative.
Mentors provide educational support through activities designed to assist in developing digital literacy skills, social skills and making connections. Sign up to be a mentor.
Volunteers not only give back to their community and help kids realize their full potential; they also gain valuable experience and skills for their own career readiness. Volunteer hours are recorded and Promise Partnership Moncton can provide reference letters.
Opportunities for elementary and middle school programs. Programs run Monday through Thursday in the fall and winter terms. The volunteer commitment is only one hour per week!
