Throughout the year the MMFC hosts several knowledge transfer events including conferences, webinars, lunch and learns, family violence prevention month activities and more.

The MMFC Research Day is an in-person event highlighting the work of its researchers and associated community members addressing the many complexities of family violence.

Each year, over the month of November, in partnership with researchers, collaborators, and stakeholders, the MMFC hosts a variety of events on topics related to Family Violence Prevention, work and services. These are delivered either face to face or virtually.

The Journey Project: Providing Trauma-Informed Legal Support to Survivors

Presenter:  Emma Duke (she/her) is a registered social worker in Newfoundland and Labrador. She has worked in the human service field for over a decade, both in community and the non-profit sector. Emma joined the Journey Project as a Legal Support Navigator in 2019, bringing her own lived experiences to the work that she does. She provides direct support to survivors of sexual violence from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens.

Each year, Nov. 1 marks the beginning of Family Violence Prevention Month. The Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research remains deeply committed to being part of solution to family violence in New Brunswick and beyond and we want you to be part of that solution too. Together we can, and will, be part of the solution to family violence.

During Family Violence Prevention month, in partnership with researchers, collaborators, and stakeholders, the MMFC typically hosts a series of Online Lunch & Learns (via Zoom) around a variety of topics related to Family Violence Prevention, work and services. These events are free but registration is required.
