The CRF aims to bring together all Francophiles and Francophones on campus for activities and events in French. Whether they are useful, entertaining, or inspiring, there will be an activity or event perfect for you.

We hosted many conferences during the Fall 2023 semester, covering topics including the history of French in Fredericton by Maurice Basque, hybrid languages and their comparison to Chiac in New Brunswick by Dr. Don Duncan, Francophone immigration with Dr. Leyla Sall, and we even celebrated our official inauguration. Prof. Sophie Lavoie wrote an article about our conference with Dr. Leyla Sall. View the article.

During the 2024 academic year, we had an assortment of writing workshops, film nights, conferences, and guest speakers. Some highlights include a glimpse into Norelice Mboutou's exposition called Black HAIRitage, a talk-show with BAIE, ecofeminism and French writing with Gabrielle Filteau-Chiba, and a conversation with former Lieutenant Governer Herménégilde Chiasson. We also met the author Kossi Komla-Ebri and Connor Blanchar animated a talk show with musician Samuel LeBlanc.

In 2025, we continued with our monthly film and game nights as well as invited guest speakers like Christian Guay-Poliquin, and Julien Cadieux. New to the Center was the Explore et Odyssée Program with Vanessa Lunn and the B2 DELF exam hosted on campus in collaboration with the Alliance Française of Moncton. Another first was the interuniversity (UNB & STU) PGL Dictation read by Robert Gauvin, Minister responsible for La Francophonie.
