Summer term is designed to meet the needs of both full-time and part-time UNB students. Courses start in May and run throughout the summer.


All students taking credit courses for degree completion, general interest, or professional improvement must apply for admission.

Tuition and fees

Summer term tuition is charged on a per course basis and is payable through the Office of the Registrar.

Refund policy

The refund policy for Summer Term—May to August courses, sessions A through F—is based on prorated fees from the first day of class up to sixth class. No refund will be issued after the sixth class.

Deciding to stop attending lectures or telling the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. You must contact the Registrar's Office to officially withdraw from a course or program.

Academic dates

Sessions start May 10, June 6, July 7, and July 27.

Summer session has a number of important dates such as course start dates, dates to withdraw without academic penalty, reading week, holidays, and exam periods.

Summer timetable

Registration opens March 1.

Registration for summer session is completed using the web registration system. Some courses have limited enrolment, so early registration is recommended. Assistance is available to activate your IT Services.

A student enrolled in the Fredericton summer session is subject to all regulations as outlined in the current undergraduate calendar.
