Andrew is a student of the famous Canadian violin teacher Kathleen Parlow. Before coming to UNB, he was a studio musician for CBC radio and television shows. He was a member of Toronto Symphony Orchestra during 1951-58 and a former concert master or the Hart House Orchestra. He came to UNB under the invitation of resident musician Joseph Pach, who is also a student of Parlow's, to become a resident musician play 2nd violin in the UNB Pach String Quartet. Andrew left UNB after 2 years of residency.
