Atlantic Sinfonia Atlantique, a unique hybrid orchestra with an audience-friendly approach to classical chamber music, brings together some of the best professional musicians from the Maritime region. Under the artistic direction of Richard Hornsby and led by New Brunswick’s David Adams as concertmaster, the group performs in 18th-century style, standing and performing without a conductor, and often in non-traditional performance settings with fine acoustics.

In 1994, the New Brunswick Summer Music Festival (NBSMF) was founded by Richard Hornsby, Director of the Centre for Musical Arts, and pianist Robert Kortgaard, then Musician-in-Residence. In the years since, the festival has grown into a two-week music event, with educational components, mentoring opportunities for young artists, free public events, lectures, and exhibits.
