Learn the basics of American Sign Language(ASL) in this relaxed and comfortable 6-week class.

The course will focus on the basics of ASL such as alphabet/numbers, simple gestures, hand shapes, and facial/body expressions. Students will learn a simple exchange, communicating in ASL using ZOOM, Google Sites, YouTube, and other online materials.

No materials required.

Dates: Mondays, Jan. 25 to March 15, 2021 (6 weeks - no class Feb. 15 & March 1)
Times: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

About the instructor

Leigh McNulty was born in Saint John, NB, and grew up in Ontario. She has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, a Master's Degree in Deaf Education from Rochester, NY and a Bachelor of Education from North Bay, Ont. She also completed a course on 'Syntax of Sign Language' at George Brown College, Toronto. Leigh has been teaching deaf children from grades one through 8 at an elementary school in Ontario for the past 9 years. She enjoys swimming in the Saint John River/New River and shopping at galleries and farmer markets.
