This webinar, hosted by Darrel Nickerson, will review the fundamental leadership styles and how to use emotional intelligence to gain acceptance for your change initiatives. It will also review communication strategies to effectively communicate your safety message.

About Darrel Nickerson

Portrait of Darrel NickersonDarrel is the Director of Health and Safety for the Pulp and Paper Division of JD Irving, Limited based in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada and has been involved in Safety for over 26 years.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from UNB Saint John and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo. He holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Juran Institute. He is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), past chair of Safety Services New Brunswick and held the position of Regional Vice President - Atlantic Region for the CSSE. He is also an instructor for the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program with the University of New Brunswick.

He resides in Quispamsis, New Brunswick with his wife Karen of 32 years and his 15-year-old daughter Briannah.
