New registrations for upcoming live OHS information sessions and Let's Talk Safety webinars qualify you for $200 off your next UNB OHS or Certificate in Management Essentials (CME) course.
*Limit of one eligible discounted course per program during this promotion (i.e., COHS, DOHS, CSL or CME). Contact customerservice@unb.ca to find out more.
Designed to accommodate busy schedules, our Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) is designed for supervisors, managers, and emerging OHS leaders. It is an advanced program designed to develop leaders in occupational health and safety, with a mixture of business management and specialized technical health and safety skills.
This diploma program delves into the essentials of business dynamics, leadership strategies, effective communication, workplace training methodologies, and decisive decision-making. It offers a transformative educational experience, equipping you to lead with confidence in the occupational health and safety field.
Upon completion of the DOHS and our Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (COHS), you will meet the formal education requirements to write the CRSP exam®.
Before registering in any DOHS courses, you must submit an application for entry into the program.
Approval is contingent on proof of a valid CRSP® or CRST® designation or completion of a UNB-approved OHS certificate program. Documentation must be included with your application. Please contact us (customerservice@unb.ca) if you have any questions.
You must receive a letter of acceptance into this program before you can proceed. Once accepted, you can register for courses individually at $675 per course or opt for the entire diploma program for a total of $6,750.*
This program consists of four mandatory core courses and an additional six elective courses that can be selected from a list of nine. Each course requires approximately 52 hours of study time and takes 13 weeks to complete.
The passing grade for each assignment and the final exam is 70%. You must complete and pass both the reflection paper and the final assignment before attempting the final exam. If, on your first attempt, the assignment passing grade has not been met, you may resubmit your assignment one additional time—at the instructor's discretion.
Life happens and sometimes we just need a little more time. We have you covered! If you need extra time to complete your course you can submit an Extension Request.
The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) sets certification standards for the occupational health and safety profession. Individuals who hold the CRSP® (Canadian Registered Safety Professional®) and/or CRST® (Canadian Registered Safety Technician®) certifications have met academic, experience and examination requirements of a national registration authority.
Completing the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma (DOHS) means that you will meet the formal education requirements for the CRSP® certification. You must still meet the work experience and professional development requirements for this certification.
