Printing / Photocopying / Scanning

Printing

Two duplex printers are available for law student use in the Law Library Computer Lab. Printing costs are 10¢ per page for one-sided copies and 15¢ per sheet for double-sided (duplexed) pages. Lab printing works on UNB’s print credit system [this will need to be updated when we know how the new system works]. Print jobs may be sent to the Computer Lab printers from lab computers, from Law Library loaner laptops, and from student-owned laptops configured to print to our printers.

Two public-use printers are available in the library.  One is located at the Reference Desk and the other is located beside the main library entrance. Users pay by the page at 10¢ per page (one-sided only).

  • Printed pages must be paid for in full at the time the pages are printed.
  • Please do not attempt to print labels on Law Library printers. If labels are needed, please consult Law Library staff.
  • Please report printer problems to Circulation Desk staff.

 Photocopying

One public-use photocopier is located in the Law Library on the First Floor. The copier will make single or double-sided copies on regular or legal size paper.

  • The copier does not make colour copies.
  • Please do not attempt to print labels using the photocopier.  If labels are needed, please consult Law Library staff.
  • Please report any problems to Circulation Desk staff.

All copies are paid-by-the-page. The library accepts either cash or cheques as payment. Cheques must have the purchaser's name, address and home phone number printed on them, and be made payable to the UNB Law Library. The library does not accept credit or debit cards. Copies must be paid for in full at the time the copies are made.

  • Persons with a UNB or STU ID card pay by the page at a cost of 15¢ (including HST) per copy.
  • Persons without a UNB or STU ID card pay by the page at a cost of 25¢ (including HST) per copy

External users may request an invoice or charge-back be issued for photocopying costs in excess of $10. For charges to external organizations (firms, government agencies, etc.), the user must provide a letter from his/her organization agreeing to pay for the copying and must complete an authorization form at the Circulation Desk.  An invoice will then be sent. For campus charge-backs, the user must complete an authorization form at the Circulation Desk, using the appropriate complete UNB or STU internal accounting code.  A charge-back to that account will then be made.

Scanning

The Law Library has a scanner workstation available for UNB student use. There is no cost to use the scanner. Users can scan items to their personal account, once logged in, and send documents via emai, or save them to a flash drive.  The scanner table is adjustable to a variety of heights to accommodate wheelchair access.

  • If you need assistance using the scanner, please ask Law Library staff.
