Church Records

Maliseet & Micmac Vital Statistics from New Brunswick Church Records contains records of the baptisms, marriages, and deaths of Maliseet and Mi’kmaq people living in New Brunswick. The collection brings together in one place church records from many parishes, facilitating an area of historical, biographical, and genealogical research which is difficult to pursue and often overlooked.

The collection includes records dating from the 1700s up to 1919. The church registers represented are those known to contain a significant number of records pertaining to Aboriginal people. The collection is also limited to registers microfilmed by the Public Archives of New Brunswick and open to the public.
