Finding an apartment

It is recommended that several apartments/rooms be viewed before making a decision, as the price does not always correspond to the quality of an accommodation.
Be certain of your choice before signing a lease because, once signed, it becomes a legally binding contract. Read this guide to see which items should be checked before committing to a lease.
Office of the Rentalsman
The Rentalsman is part of the provincial government and he/she is there to help landlords and tenants understand their rights and duties. The Office of the Rentalsman is an important part of your search as you will find relevant information and checklists to help you have a smooth transition to a new accomodation. Whether you are looking for a home, an apartment, a condo or a room to rent; the Rentalsman can help you in your search.
Newspapers
The local newspaper, The Telegraph Journal, has classified ads for apartments, roommates, and rooms, available for rent in the Saint John area. Newspapers can be purchased at most corner stores/pharmacies, campus bookstore, etc.
