North End

5-15 minutes by bus/transit to UNB Saint John Campus. There are a wide variety of apartment complexes and rooms in privately owned homes in this locality. A large number of students live in this very popular area. Due to the close proximity to the University, these units tend to rent early.
South/Central/Uptown

15-20 minutes by bus/transit to UNB Saint John Campus. This is Saint John's commercial/business district and is where much of the city's entertainment (movies, restaurants, shopping, aquatic centre, YMCA) can be found. The Uptown are is popular with students and is home to many affordable apartments.
East Side
30+ minutes by bus/transit to UNB Saint John Campus. Saint John's largest retail centres, cinemas and many restaurants are located in this area. Also available here are a wide variety of apartment complexes and rooms in privately-owned homes.
West Side
30+ minutes by bus/transit to UNBSJ Campus. The West Side is mainly a residential area with few apartment listings.
Rothesay/Quispamsis Area
Located east of the city center, with limited bus service (only Comex), this is a mostly residential area of the city. It is recommended that you have transportation arrangements (private car) before renting in this area. Many people choose to live in the Rothesay/Quispamsis area as the weather tends to be better.
Grand Bay - Westfield
Located west of the city center, with limited bus service (only Comex), this is a mostly residential area of the city. It is recommended that you have transportation arrangements (private car) before renting in this area. Many people choose to live in the Grand Bay-Westfield area as the weather tends to be better.
