Voices Against Sexual Aggression
Voices Against Sexual Aggression (VOICES or VASA) is a peer-led program through the UNB Sexuality Centre and Student Affairs and Services that allows men and women at UNB to work together to help prevent sexual aggression and other kinds of dating violence in our community. We strive to promote health relationships, gender equality, and the eradication of sexual assault myths trough education and community involvement.
VASA hopes to educate the university community through our fun and interactive Dating B.A.S.I.C.S. workshops. Dating B.A.S.I.C.S. stands for Boundaries for Assertiveness Surrounding Intimacy and Consensual Sex. Through the workshop, participants have the opportunity to explore and discuss what constitutes sexual assault and informed consent, develop assertive responses to unwanted advances, and delve into issues surrounding consent and relationship violence. The workshop uses a variety of mediums and can be presented to any campus club, society, group, class, or residence.
