Confidentiality and Disclosure
Students will need to inform instructors of their association with the Student Accessibility Centre and, when necessary, of classroom or academics related accommodations required. Disclosure of the nature of their disability is not mandatory and can be a difficult matter for an individual due to the newness of a disability, type of disability, or associated stigma. The SAC will have detailed documentation of each student’s disability on file, and we leave it up to students to determine the degree of disclosure. We ask that the student's decision in this regard be respected.
Confidentiality and Release of Information
UNB’s Student Accessibility Centre (SAC) is committed to ensuring that all information you provide is maintained as confidential. Any information collected is used for your benefit. This may include: biographical history, disability information, medical certificates, psycho-educational reports, transcript information, and case notes. Guidelines for confidentiality have been adopted by the SAC and will be shared with you during the intake process. Read more about Confidentiality Guidelines.
