Campus Accessibility

The Student Accessibility Centre strives to meet the need of all clients with mobility issues. Many buildings on the Fredericton campus are accessible by wheelchair, have disabled parking and are equipped with accessible washroom and power-assisted doors.  Prospective students can request a tour of the University through our Student Recruitment Office.

Transportation

Dial- A- Bus

Fredericton provides specialized transportation to the mobility impaired residents of the City of Fredericton. In order to be eligible for this service registration is required. One way fares are $3.00. Attendants travel free of charge.  Please see the Dial-a-Bus website for more information.

ABC Taxi & Limo

ABC Taxi & Limo offers wheelchair accessible transportation that can carry both motorized and regular chairs.  It runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Please call for rates.(455-5555)

Buildings

If you are enrolled in a class that is situated in an inaccessible building on campus, it is possible for that class to be relocated. You must be a registered student of the Accessibility Centre's and have provided us with proper documentation demonstrating your need for the change.

Parking

There are currently 57 accessible parking spaces on Campus and can be located on the following map.

Snow Removal

Winters in New Brunswick can be challenging for all students. If there are any issues or concerns around snow removals during the winter months please contact our office immediately.  All students are notified of Campus Closure via email, radio and the UNB homepage.

Residence

Residential Life offers accessible housing options for students who require wheelchair-access or other barrier-free living arrangements. They can also assist with flashing lights on smoking alarms. Please contact Residential Life and Conference Services for more information.
