Bridging Year Program

Admission Requirements:

The Bridging Year program is open to any First Nation student who meets one of the following criteria:

  • High School Graduate
  • Mature Student (as defined in the UNB undergraduate calendar)

Note on reapplying: If unsuccessful in the Bridging Year program, students must wait one academic year before being eligible to apply.

Required Documentation for Applying:

  1. UNB Application Form: (Please complete and return with the included application fee (payable to University of New Brunswick) to the Mi'kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre)
  2. References:UNB Recommendation for Admission to Bridging Year Form (Note: Have two people holding responsible positions in the field of education (School Principal / Teacher) complete the forms and have them return it directly to MWC)
  3. Official Transcripts: Have the school you last attended, mail an official copy of your transcript directly to MWC)

Interview:

After your application is received, the Mi'kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre will contact and schedule an interview with you. If a personal interview is not possible, a telephone interview will be conducted. During the interview, MWC will ask you about your academic interests and goals in relation to the Bridging Year curriculum and the degree programs of the university.
