Who We Are

Approximately 20 staff and students work at CNER in two teams. The Chemistry Team has experience in corrosion radiation chemistry, electrochemistry, corrosion and materials science. The Electrical Team has experience with databases and comprehensive control systems, having implemented, along with AECL, the distributed control system for a CANDU® reactor located in China.

CNER has several employees with over a decade of experience in the nuclear industry. A number of employees also have significant experience in other industries in positions up to vice-president. Collectively, CNER is knowledgeable in fossil power plants, pulp and paper mills and information technology. This experience as well as proven safety, quality assurance and project management expertise allows CNER to be effective service providers to industrial customers.

CNER has extensive laboratory facilities including a Gammacell® to supply the radiation in radiation chemistry work. There are also two fully automated high-temperature and high-pressure test loops, constructed to industry standards, which simulate the primary heat transport system of a CANDU® reactor.
