HEPro

CNER is proud to offer the HEPro, an on-line, real-time, non-intrusive corrosion monitoring system for industrial applications where pipe wall loss due to corrosion is a concern. The HEPro is an ideal predictive maintenance tool that can help reduce plant outage frequency and duration. This innovative monitor can help reduce the scope and frequency of equipment inspection and premature replacement costs.

The HEPro predicts corrosion rate by measuring the pressure rise within a cup which is externally mounted to a pipe surface. The pressure rises as hydrogen gas in collected within the cup. This hydrogen gas is formed from through wall hydrogen atoms produced by the corrosion reaction at the inner surface of the pipe. The rate of pressure rise measured by the HEPro can be directly related to the rate of corrosion experienced by the pipe.

A number of unique design features enable the HEPro to function effectively even in demanding industrial environments. The innovative cup to pipe clamp and seal design (patent pending) allows the HEPro to operate at the required vacuum pressures with insignificant leakage. Low volume components have been used to maximize the sensitivity of the monitor. The HEPro may be operated and monitored remotely from locations such as a plant control room or engineering department.

Upon the customer’s request, CNER can provide services in support of the HEPro. Working with the customer, CNER will recommend the optimum installation location and support ongoing operation of the instrument. Laboratory services are also available to expand upon the information provided by the installed HEPro .
