Annual Report 2017

Pursuing excellence in sport

Passion, spirit and strength are embedded in the DNA of UNB’s athletes. On the court or field, in the classroom, or in the community our athletes demonstrate a commitment to success.

Building Varsity Reds women’s hockey

Sarah Hilworth

With the proud resurgence of Varsity Reds women’s hockey for the 2018-19 season, Sarah Hilworth has been tabbed as head coach and charged with building the new team.

Prior to becoming the first women’s hockey coach at Olds College, Ms. Hilworth served two seasons as an assistant coach with the University of Alberta Pandas, helping lead her alma mater to back-to-back first place finishes and the 2015 Canada West championship. Prior to coaching the Pandas, she played five seasons for the team, registering 100 points in 100 career games and capturing a national championship in 2010. “This opportunity is a dream come true,” says Ms. Hilworth. “I’m being entrusted not just to bring the women’s hockey tradition back to UNB, but add another element of elite hockey in New Brunswick.”
