  • University Commons fundraising campaign launched.
  • The Sir James Dunn Foundation contributes $500,000 to UNB Saint John's University Commons Project.
  • Official opening of Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick with 30 students in attendance.
  • UNB celebrates 225th Anniversary: A Celebration of Canadian Spirit by honouring five distinguished Canadians: Clara Hughes, Phil Fontaine, Carolyn Acker, Purdy Crawford and Alan MacGibbon at Toronto's Royal Conservatory TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, Koerner Hall with honorary degrees.
  • University of New Brunswick announces Urban and Community Studies Institute to be located in Beaverbrook House.



  • Dr. Thomas J. Condon, former UNB professor, Dean of Arts and Vice-President passes away on April 22.
  • UNB Saint John's Hans W. Klohn Commons featured in the Library Design Showcase 2012.
  • David H. Burns appointed Vice-President (Research).
  • UNB Saint John appoints new Associate Vice-President, Dr. Laurelle LeVert.
  • Dr. Joanna Everitt accepts re-appointment as Dean of Arts for a five-year term commencing on January 1, 2013.
