A limited number of seats are available at the ceremony. Parents and guests (including children/infants) who wish to attend must have a ticket for admission. Tickets (two per graduating student) can be obtained:

  • May 28, 2020: from 3 - 4 p.m. in the Hazen Hall foyer, outside of the Hazen Hall Lecture Theatre

  • May 29, 2020: from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., in the K.C. Irving Hall foyer, outside of K.C. Irving Hall Room 101

Tickets are free of charge. Please advise your guests that the gymnasium will be open for seating beginning at 12:30 p.m. on May 29. Seats are unassigned and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No food - only water - is permitted in the gymnasium.

We are pleased to announce that once again, friends and family who do not have a ticket will be able to sit in overflow seating in the Hazen Hall Lecture Theatre to view the ceremony via a live feed.

Additional tickets

If graduates are interested in receiving additional tickets for the ceremony, they should send an email request to the Office of the Registrar by Friday, May 1, 2020. Graduates may request between 1-4 possible extra tickets. There is no guarantee any additional tickets may be available.

All graduates submitting a request for additional guest tickets will be given consideration after this date and will receive an email notification of whether their request can be accommodated as soon as possible after Monday, May 11, 2020. All tickets will be available for pick up as noted above.

Special needs seating arrangements

The Convocation Committee is pleased to assist guests in wheelchairs who require assistance in accessing the gymnasium. It is essential, however, that you inform us by contacting the Office of the Registrar at no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020. Your request must provide the name and student number of the graduating student, the name of the guest requiring assistance and the name of the person accompanying him or her.

Photo composite

Please contact the SRC Office for more information on graduation photos and on how to have your photo included in the Class of 2020 photo composite.

Photos during the ceremony

The UNB photographer will take a photograph of each graduate on the stage. You will be able to easily download a print quality photograph a few weeks after the ceremony. Details will appear in the convocation program.

We ask you to encourage your guests not to block the aisles if they wish to take their own photographs during the ceremony. It is strongly recommended that you wait until after the ceremony and use the stage for photographs.

Fresh flowers and class t-shirts will be available for purchase at the G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre at Convocation and are available now for pre-order.
